Kon Tum Robusta Coffee Farm of Ms. Mai

Kon Tum Robusta Coffee Farm of Ms. Mai grows Thien Truong Robusta at 600 m above sea level in Ha Mon commune, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

The region
Dak Ha district is known as the coffee capital of Kon Tum province. It has the largest coffee area in the province, and its coffee is protected by the geographical indication "Dak Ha coffee". The province itself takes its name from the Ba Na language, in which kon means village and tum means lake.

Soil and climate
Kon Tum has the tropical monsoon climate of the Central Highlands, with a rainy season from around May to October and a dry season from November to April. Most coffee in the Central Highlands grows on red-brown basalt soils, which are deep, loose and well drained. Coffee blossoms turn the farms white in March and April, and the cherries ripen in the dry months at the end of the year.

Trees and variety
Ms. Mai planted 300 trees of the Thien Truong variety in neat rows across 0.2 hectares in 2024. The farm gave its first light harvest in 2026.

Farming
The farm is fed with organic fertiliser, and natural grass is grown as ground cover.

Harvest and processing
This farm ripens early, usually from late October to early November. Cherries are processed natural (dry) and sorted to screen 16–18.
