Kon Tum Robusta Coffee Farm of Mr. A Phong

Kon Tum Robusta Coffee Farm of Mr. A Phong grows TR4 Robusta at 650 m above sea level in Dak Hring commune, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

The region
Dak Ha district is known as the coffee capital of Kon Tum province. It has the largest coffee area in the province, and its coffee is protected by the geographical indication "Dak Ha coffee". The province itself takes its name from the Ba Na language, in which kon means village and tum means lake.

Soil and climate
Kon Tum has the tropical monsoon climate of the Central Highlands, with a rainy season from around May to October and a dry season from November to April. Most coffee in the Central Highlands grows on red-brown basalt soils, which are deep, loose and well drained. Coffee blossoms turn the farms white in March and April, and the cherries ripen in the dry months at the end of the year.

Trees and variety
Around 300 trees of the Robusta clone TR4 grow across 0.3 hectares. Planted in 2016, the farm is now in production. TR4 is one of the high-yielding Robusta clones bred by the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (WASI). It ripens in the dry season, which makes harvesting and drying easier.

Farming
From late 2026 the farm is moving to an organic fertilising programme.

Processing
Cherries are processed natural (dry) and sorted to screen 16–18.
